The gifting of a luxury timepiece is a momentous occasion, and one that is often remembered for a lifetime. Whether they are saved for future generations, or as an addition to a watch connoisseurs collection, each and every purchase of a luxury watch is special. Whilst this Christmas may be different to others, we’re here to help you find that perfect gift that your loved one will treasure forever. We at the Watches of Switzerland Group have the largest collection of luxury timepieces in the UK, and one of the largest collections in the US. From luxury watch virtual boutique appointments, to shopping online, we are adapting how we showcase our brands this year, and below are just a few pieces we wanted to highlight this festive period from our brands.
OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300 (pictured above)
The OMEGA Seamaster was first released in 1948 and has since become one of the most well-respected divers watches in the industry. OMEGA’s passion for the ocean has led to the creation of numerous timepieces that are well equipped to withstand the enormous pressures faced by divers, and those who adventure offshore. Since 1993 the Seamaster Diver has had a legendary following, here we pick one of our most sought-after pieces. This 42mm Seamaster is made from a stainless-steel case and has a matching bracelet, for a robust watch that is comfortable and practical, and features a blue ceramic unidirectional bezel with a white enamel diving scale. This offers a long-lasting whiteness and durability and is a critical component to keeping track of time spent underwater.
The dial itself is also in a polished blue ceramic and features beautiful laser-engraved waves to really emphasise the watches’ aquatic aesthetics – which made its return for the 25th anniversary makeover in 2018. The skeleton hands and raised indexes are rhodium-plated and filled with white SuperLumi-Nova®, allowing divers to see the time, even with reduced visibility and lighting.. The timepiece is powered by the self-winding OMEGA Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 which can be seen through the waved edge caseback and is resistant to magnetic fields. This timepiece is water resistant up to 300 metres.

TAG Heuer Carrera
This year saw the launch of several iterations of the TAG Heuer Carrera. The watch was designed in 1963 by the brands namesake Jack Heuer and inspired by the Carrera Panamericana- one of the most infamous motor races in history, embodying the spirit and lust for life reflected in the track, and the drivers. The original Carrera was built for drivers just like them, and was crafted to such high standards with no compromises on performance, it paved the way for a new era of timepiece design.
The new releases pay homage to their predecessors and the brands’ rich history and heritage in motor racing sport, by keeping a similar aesthetic with some modern upgrade.
Bringing the power of motor sport to watch form, this spectacular TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 02 Chronograph will get your own heart racing with a race car inspired aesthetic and mesmerising blue brushed dial. Remaining true to their avant-garde identity, TAG Heuer have bought to life one of their latest automatic column wheel chronograph movements through a sporty dress watch which, just like under the bonnet of a car, reveals its own intricate and powerful engine through its exhibition sapphire crystal case back.
Through the back of this TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 02 Chronograph watch, you can witness the beauty of the Calibre Heuer 02 self-winding movement and some of its 168 components and 33 jewels. The calibre equips the timepiece with hour, minutes and central chronograph seconds, date function at 6 o clock, 12 hour chronograph counter at 9 o clock, 30 minute counter at 3 o clock, a continuous seconds counter at 6 o clock and a power reserve of 80 hours. Housing the impressive movement is a 44 mm fine brushed and polished steel case equipped with a blue ceramic tachymeter bezel, anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal glass and a sophisticated stainless steel bracelet with push button folding clasp. To complete the look and for optimal legibility, decorating the handsome blue dial of this TAG Carrera Calibre Heuer 02 watch is faceted steel indexes and sword-shaped central hands coated in Superluminova.

Cartier Santos Dumont
Back in 1904, when Louis Cartier made a functional aviation tool for his friend Alberto Santos-Dumont so that the pilot could check the time without removing his hands from the controls, he was also creating one of the world’s very first wristwatches. And, as we all know, that was just the beginning. In 1911, he put the Santos into mass production, selling it to the public in his flagship Parisian boutique. Over the years, he created many variations on the original, all featuring the same distinctive case, screws and numerals.
This piece is crafted in stainless steel with a handsome navy blue alligator-leather strap. The beaded crown is set with a blue synthetic cabochon-shaped spinel, an iconic feature of Cartier, as are the blue sword-shaped hands plus an interesting texture is added in the form of the silvered satin-brushed dial with sunray effect. This timepiece is a truly wonderful piece of horological art, and it is no wonder the Santos has stood the test of time. This would be perfect for those with classic and refined tastes, who wants their watch to perform well and look stylish and sleek at the same time.
