Launched as part of Geneva Watch Days 2020 , Breitling presents a new range within their Professional range – a collection of tool watches that have long been favourites of explorers and pilots. Their new Endurance Pro encapsulates the fundamentals of the Professional range and seamlessly combines a sporting aesthetic and functionality. Taking inspiration from sports has long been part of Breitling’s legacy, and they have partnered with major sporting events such as the Giro d’Italia and worldwide rallies within motorsports.
The Breitling Endurance Pro is designed for those with an active lifestyle – it rises to the challenge of rigorous sports and workouts while remaining stylish enough for everyday wear. It combines an ultra-light-weight 44 millimetre Breitlight® case and a thermo-compensated SuperQuartz™ movement that is ten times more accurate than conventional quartz. It offers optimal comfort, and blends innovative technology with a vibrant and colourful aesthetic.
The Endurance Pro is inspired by the Breitling Sprint, a memorable watch from the 1970s that featured a light weight pulsometer for athletes who wanted to be able to monitor their heart rates and accurately track their progress. The Sprint came in many colours, as was the trend in the 1970s, and the new Endurance Pro is a modern evolution of the design, with five exciting colourways; white, blue, yellow, orange or red. Each piece in the new collection features a black dial and a black bidirectional rotating bezel, with engraved cardinal compass points (N, S, E, and W).
The pieces are designed with an inner bezel, which is marked with a useful pulsometer scale, in a choice of one of the five colourways mentioned, making it easy for the user to keep track of their heart rate during sports sessions. The watches are presented on a Diver Pro rubber strap in the same colour as the inner bezel ring and the strap is secured with a Breitlight® double-pin buckle. The watch also has a tactile moulded crown in the same colour as the strap and the inner bezel ring for excellent grip and manoeuvrability. For those who want to add even more colour to this already dazzling watch, vibrant Outerknown ECONYL® yarn NATO straps that pair perfectly with this eye-catching chronograph can be purchased separately.
At the heart of the Endurance Pro is the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 82, whose SuperQuartz™ technology delivers exceptional precision. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®, making them legible in low visibility conditions, perfect for those who workout before or after work, and the chronograph second hand has a red pointer so it is easy to keep track of the elapsed time. Along with a small-second subdial, there are 1/10th second and 30-minute chronograph counters that have also been designed for easy reading and the Breitling Endurance Pro is water-resistant to 100 metres.
The Breitling Endurance Pro Strava Challenge
Strava is the world’s leading app for runners and cyclists. Its features allow athletes to track and analyse every aspect of their activities, regardless of their choice of sport. The Breitling Endurance Pro Strava Challenge was created to engage and motivate participants from all over the world. Those who take part in the Strava Challenge, which goes live on 2nd September, will be competing for some great prizes, including a Breitling Colnago C64 bike, Breitling Endurance Pro watches, and Breitling jersey kits.
To be eligible for the prizes, competitors will have to complete 500 minutes – about the time it takes a world-class triathlete to complete a full IRON-MAN® event – in the activities of their choice, be it swimming, running, cycling, hiking, or another sport. Unlike the IRONMAN® stars, participants in the Breitling Endurance Pro Strava Challenge will have two weeks to rack up their 500 minutes. The winners will be selected at random from the pool of competitors who complete the Strava Challenge.
