The Watches of Switzerland Group appreciate that your luxury timepiece means a lot to you. We know that you want to take good care of it and maintain it properly so that it lasts for life. We have more accredited watchmakers than any other retailer who are trained and equipped to service your watch to keep your timepiece ticking. Lee Garlick who is our Senior Watchmaker explains why you should choose us to service your watch and the process involved to keep your watch in tip top condition.
Why choose to service your watch with us?
We have experience servicing a variety of watches that include modern to vintage timepieces. The Watches of Switzerland Group have invested in the workshops and the equipment to service the watches, correct any faults and reassemble the pieces before finally testing it and handing it back to the client. All of the watchmakers have fantastic support from the brands and we offer high levels of customer satisfaction, hence clients trust us to get their watch back in perfect condition, making us the first choice for watch servicing. You can read more about our watch aftercare, At Your Service here.
Whether there is a fault or issue with the watch, clients can bring their timepiece in store where there is a dedicated service area and a team who will investigate the fault. Depending on the brand, the repair can either take place in store where our accredited watchmaker will assess and give you an estimate before proceeding. In some occasions, the watch will be sent to the manufacturer.
What tools and equipment do you use?
Within our roles as a watchmaker we have access to specific machines to enable us to service your watch to the highest standard. There is a machine specifically used for cleaning. All of the parts are dismantled for a thorough clean before the watch is re-built. A special equipment is used to clean the cases and bracelets as well as polishing the cases.
As all watches have a movement inside, a watch movement holder is used so that the watch can be taken apart for a service and put into the holder to hold several pieces to rebuild the watch. Any movements that require a clean are put into the machine to remove all dirt and oil.
The watch is tested for a number of days before it goes back to the client.
