For all three new Laureato Absolute models, Girard-Perregaux has upped the case size to 44mm and, though this undeniably gives each model a stronger presence on the wrist, the brand has offset this by casting the case entirely in black PVD-treated titanium, keeping it lightweight. It’s also now water-resistant to 300m. On the Laureato Absolute Chronograph, these design updates amount to a sporty look and feel, with redesigned chronograph pushers that are more angular than previous Laureato editions and a blue-stitched black rubber strap.
Girard-Perregaux’s ‘Earth to Sky’ theme can be seen in the watch’s gradated dial, which runs from dark blue in the centre to black at the edges, and the electric-blue ring around its circumference. A white inner bezel ring with luminescent markers, matt black hour markers and black chronograph counters harmonise the design. This model is equipped with an in-house automatic chronograph movement that packs a 46-hour power reserve.
