Last year, Vacheron Constantin caused a stir on the first day of the salon with the introduction of an entirely new family of timepieces aimed at a younger generation of watch enthusiasts: the FiftySix. This year, the grand dame of watchmaking builds on the success of the FiftySix line with a bevy of new models, including this understated FiftySix Self-Winding with a ‘petrol’ blue dial.
The FiftySix collection was so-called because it took inspiration from Ref 6073, a watch from its archives that was first launched in 1956. The new-for-2019 models still feel vintage-inspired, but Vacheron Constantin has updated their look-and-feel with a striking blue dial that it’s terming ‘Petrol’. The 40mm steel case houses the brand’s calibre 1326, which measures a mere 4.3mm thick, powers a date window at 3 o’clock and boasts a 48-hour power reserve. The watch also comes on a stylish blue alligator leather strap.
