Hublot is known for its bold signature designs, and this year the Swiss brand didn’t let us down. As part of Geneva Days 2019, it presented a number of exciting new timepieces in its popular Big Bang line and its elegant Classic Fusion collection, with something to please both men and women alike.
Among the Hublot novelties, we were especially mesmerised by the new Classic Fusion Tourbillon Orlinski with a 45mm polished sapphire-crystal case, skeletonised dial and a transparent rubber strap (pictured). There are three versions in the new series: sapphire, King Gold and ceramic. Each has been produced in partnership with the contemporary sculptor Richard Orlinski, who’s been bringing his inventive design and fascination with colour and light to contemporary watch design since he became Hublot’s creative partner in 2017.
The stunning see-through sapphire model features an innovative open-worked dial, through which Hublot’s in-house hand-wound tourbillon movement can be admired as it makes one revolution per minute. It’s set to be limited to just 30 pieces, and will be available at Watches of Switzerland later this year. Elsewhere, the Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Blue Diamonds is a head-turning 39mm timepiece featuring 50 dazzling diamonds on the bezel and a stunning blue dial – and we’re pleased to announce it will soon be available at Mappin & Webb. Last but not least, we predict the brand’s Big Bang Black Magic will be a hit thanks to its stealthy black 42mm case, its skeletonised dial and its black rubber strap — keep an eye out for it in your nearest Goldsmiths store in the coming weeks.
